The ISO A- and B-series and the US formats, in millimetres, centimetres and inches. The A-series logic: every size is the previous one folded in half, and the ratio is always √2.

A4 (210 × 297 mm) and US Letter (8.5 × 11″) are close but not interchangeable: Letter is 6 mm wider and 18 mm shorter. Printing A4 documents on Letter? Set your printer to "fit to page".
