Bed sizes: US, UK and Europe compared
The same word means a different bed in each country — a UK King (150×200 cm) is closer to a US Queen (152×203) than a US King (193×203). Full chart below.

The names don't line up — that's the trap. A US King is 43 cm wider than a UK King. Rows in this chart are grouped by closest match, not exact equals: a US Queen (152 cm) sits between a UK King (150) and the EU 160. When buying bedding abroad, go by centimetres, never by the name.
The quick rules
US and UK mattresses differ in both width and length (UK beds are a touch shorter). Continental Europe uses clean metric sizes, all 200 cm long. IKEA sells EU sizes worldwide, which is why an IKEA "King" may not match your local "King" bedding.
