Will a 65 inch TV fit in my car?
Only in larger cars — big SUVs, MPVs, estates and vans with the rear seats folded. The box is roughly 160 × 95 × 20 cm and must travel upright. Here's how to be sure.
The numbers
| Item | Approx. size |
|---|---|
| 65″ screen only | 144 × 81 cm |
| 65″ TV in its box | ≈ 160 × 95 × 20 cm |
| 55″ TV in its box | ≈ 135 × 85 × 18 cm |
Two things to check
1. The boot opening, not just the space. A 65″ box is about 160 cm on its longest side — measure the opening diagonally with the seats down. Most saloons and small hatchbacks can't swallow it; you'll want an SUV, MPV, estate or van.
2. Upright only. Large panels can crack from vibration if laid flat, and that damage isn't covered by warranty. Stand it up, slightly tilted against the folded seats, and pad it.
