Bank card size in cm
A bank card is 8.56 × 5.4 cm (85.60 × 53.98 mm) — exactly the same size as a credit card. Debit, ATM and credit cards all share one international standard.

Every card type, same size
| Card type | Size |
|---|---|
| Debit / bank card | 8.56 × 5.4 cm |
| Credit card | 8.56 × 5.4 cm |
| ATM card | 8.56 × 5.4 cm |
| Driving licence (most countries) | 8.56 × 5.4 cm |
| National ID card (EU) | 8.56 × 5.4 cm |
Why they are all identical
The size comes from ISO/IEC 7810 ID-1, agreed internationally so that one card slot, one ATM and one reader can handle cards from any bank in any country. It is the reason a card issued in Rotterdam works in a machine in Rio without anyone checking its dimensions.
Thickness is standardised too, at 0.76 mm. Metal cards from some banks feel heavier and can be marginally thicker, which is occasionally why one sticks in an older reader or a tight wallet slot — the footprint is identical, but the feel is not.
