Will a 75 inch TV fit in my car?
Usually no — most cars are too short for the box. The box is roughly 180 × 105 × 22 cm. Two measurements decide it.
The numbers
| Item | Approx. size |
|---|---|
| 75″ screen only | 166.0 × 93.4 cm |
| 75″ TV in its box | ≈ 180 × 105 × 22 cm |
| Box length needed | ≈ 180 cm (71 in) |
| Opening height needed (upright) | ≈ 105 cm (41 in) |
Measure these two things
1. The opening, not just the space. The box has to pass through the boot or door opening. Measure the opening’s width and height — for a 75″ TV you need roughly 105 cm of height to get it in upright. A long enough load floor is useless if the opening is too small.
2. The length with the seats folded. Measure from the tailgate to the back of the front seats. You need about 180 cm, plus a little room to tilt it in.
At around 1.8 m long and over 1 m tall, a boxed 75″ TV is longer than the load floor of most hatchbacks and many estates, even with the seats down. Plan for a van, a large MPV, or the retailer’s delivery.
Every common TV size: does it fit in a car?
| TV size | Box (approx.) | Typical fit |
|---|---|---|
| 43″ | 105 × 70 × 15 cm | Fits in most hatchbacks and sedans |
| 50″ | 120 × 78 × 16 cm | Fits in most hatchbacks and estates |
| 55″ | 135 × 85 × 18 cm | Fits in most SUVs, hatchbacks, estates (seats down) |
| 65″ | 160 × 95 × 20 cm | Needs a large SUV, MPV or estate |
| 75″ | 180 × 105 × 22 cm | Usually needs a van or large SUV |
Frequently asked questions
Will a 75 inch TV fit in a normal car?
Usually no — most cars are too short for the box. The box is about 180 × 105 × 22 cm and should travel upright.
How big is a 75 inch TV box?
Roughly 180 × 105 × 22 cm (length × height × depth). The exact size depends on brand and stand; check the retailer’s listing.
How big is a 75 inch TV screen?
About 166.0 × 93.4 cm for a 16:9 screen — the 75 inches is the diagonal.
